Andrew is an Emmy-nominated composer, producer, and performer. Over the last 20 years he has scored over 200 films and tv programmes, and composed and produced three critically acclaimed albums as Grasscut.
Nominated for an Emmy in 2012 for his score for The Battle for Marjah (HBO), Andrew has worked on a wide range of award-winning feature documentaries, tv documentaries, and dramas. He has written for all the major broadcasters in the UK, HBO & HSNBC in the USA, and Film Australia, developing an original voice combining the worlds of classical music and electronica.
The Grasscut album 1 inch:1/2 Mile (2010) was selected in The Sunday Telegraph as one of the top ten albums of the year. Tom Robinson listed it as one of his 13 best albums of all time. Everyone Was A Bird (2015) received acclaim from Uncut, Q, Mojo, The Wire, The Quietus, Irish Times, as well as airplay on 6music, BBC Radio 1,2, 3 & 4, and XFM.
Live, Grasscut (Andrew & Marcus O’Dair) have performed at Cecil Sharp House, Union Chapel, ICA, Koko and Tate Britain, as well as in France, Germany, Belgium, Holland, Czech Republic, Portugal, Poland and Slovakia. In 2012 they re-imagined Gorecki's third string quartet for a live performance alongside the Kronos Quartet in Krakow.
